Job Title:  Warehouse Technician

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, performs moderately complex warehousing activities in accordance with established system and WMMI policies and procedures. The Technician is responsible for maintaining control of materials, equipment parts and general supplies. The Technician receives and unloads goods and materials then place into inventory. Issues parts to mine site as required per work orders. Use pallet jacks, bailer and forklifts as needed. Perform other duties as required.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tasks in a timely manner with high quality and accuracy without supervision or assistance
  • Receive and/or issue materials using the SAP system
  • Perform searches and counts against material inventory lists
  • Operate warehouse equipment routinely used in the role
  • Be reasonably familiar with the material inventory to assist operations and maintenance as needed
  • Apply critical thought processes to develop and implement improvements in the operation of the warehouse or create solutions to problems as they arise
  • Follow all established safety and environmental practices and recognize and control hazards while performing tasks.
  • Work with others outside of the department including operators, mechanics, vendors, delivery drivers, etc..
  • Communicate effectively using oral, written, or digital methods.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Education / Certification: High School Diploma or GED or higher
  • Minimum Experience: One (1) years’ experience preferred
  • Skills: Routinely requires use of simple math (M.D.A.S.)
  • Previous project management and/or leadership roles a plus
  • Previous forklift operation a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office a must with solid capability in using commonly used Excel functions preferred
  • Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems preferred
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of supply chain management principles a plus
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing and accounting principles a plus
  • Previous experience with TQM, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing (JIT, TPM) systems preferred

 

 

The pay-range for this position is from $23.00 to $28.00 based on experience.
