Job Title:  Senior Corporate Accountant

Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the monthly consolidation of the company’s global results in a timely and accurate manner and the preparation of quarterly and annual external financial disclosures in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This position addresses complex accounting matters and provides technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. This position supports the continuous improvement of accounting processes and financial systems to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy. The successful candidate is a self-starter, action-oriented, and goal-oriented and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares and reviews working papers and journal entries for corporate entities to support the financial close and consolidation processes.
  • Collaborates with the Financial Reporting team to ensure information provided for consolidation is complete and accurate.
  • Ensures intercompany balances are reconciled and works with the Corporate Accounting team and Financial Reporting team to resolve differences.
  • Prepares the monthly group consolidation of financial data submitted by corporate and site teams.
  • Supports the preparation of the consolidated cash flow statement.
  • Supports the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Supports proper accounting for the company’s stock-based compensation arrangements.
  • Researches, analyzes, and recommends the proper application of IFRS for complex corporate accounting matters and prepares related accounting memos.
  • Liaises with internal and external auditors, providing them with required analysis and responding to their queries.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate internal controls for monthly and quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements. 
  • Supports the integrity of financial data within the company’s ERP and recommends improvements as needed.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the company’s consolidation software (OneStream).
  • Participates in ad-hoc finance-related projects, such as accounting process improvements, finance automation initiatives, system implementations, and financial analysis.

 

Required Experience and Skill Set

  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in an accounting role.
  • Experience working with large, multi-jurisdictional, publicly traded companies or a Big Four accounting firm.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge to support efficient and accurate financial reporting.
  • Experience with internal control environments, such as SOX or similar frameworks.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel. SAP and OneStream experience is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and persuasive skills; the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.

    The salary range for this position is from $95,700.00 to $108,900.00.
