Job Title:  Geologist III

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Mining Geology, the Principal Geologist will assist in the review of grade control processes, resource estimates, reconciliation systems, site laboratory QA/QC, development and audit of short term (or grade control) models and preparation of technical reports for the Company’s exploration and mining projects.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform best practice review and implement improvement projects for grade control programs
  • Assists with the development of grade control (short term) resource block models, and mineral resourceestimation reports including NI 43-101 Technical Reports
  • Participates in geological and mineral resource reviews, audits, and due diligence assessments
  • Work with site mine geology, exploration, and engineering groups to aid in drill planning, data analysis,reconciliation, and other duties as necessary.

Required Experience and Skill Set

  • Meets NI 43-101 requirements for Qualified Person status including current registration or eligibility to registerwith an approved professional association (e.g., Engineers and Geoscientists of BC).
  • Degree in Geology or Geological/Mining Engineering. Graduate degree is preferred.
  • 10 + years of progressive experience in a mine setting.
  • Experience in geological modelling & mineral resource estimation, ideally with a focus on gold deposits.
  • Strong software skills in data analysis, GIS, and 3D modeling.
  • Self-motivated with track record of successfully working independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinaryteams in a dynamic working environment.
  • Experience with QA/QC systems and protocols.
  • Full proficiency in English required.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
  • Experience in open pit and underground mines.
