Job Title:  Tool Crib Attendant

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for maintaining the tool crib inventory and distributing supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue tools as required.
  • Maintain accurate record of tools taken and returned.
  • Identify broken tools and repair tools or arrange for repairs.
  • Replace missing tools.
  • Puts parts away in proper locations.
  • Ensure parts room is clean and organized.

Job Conditions

  • Forklift training is an asset.
  • Experience with parts manuals and identifying components and parts to repair and replace tools is required.
  • Experience with tooling to repair heavy equipment is required.
  • Mining company/mine site experience is an asset.
  • Manage competing priorities with frequent interruptions.
  • Able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario.
