Job Summary:

Under direct supervision of the E&I Superintendent, the Maintenance Planner is directly responsible for the maintenance asset strategy planning & scheduling and coordination of all Preventive Maintenance and repair activities. These duties must be performed to ensure safe and productive equipment availability.  Verify work instructions and ensure work practices contain all information to complete tasks safely and efficiently.  Duties also include implementation and management of maintenance plans and task list within SAP.  Develop, revise, and assist implementation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Process Maintenance Department.  Provide support and analysis of maintenance strategy to support lowest cost per ton at the desired availability, which supports the overall goal of lowest total cost of ownership and overall equipment effectiveness.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish and refine maintenance strategies for the Process Equipment, in consultation with Production, Maintenance and OEM’s to ensure that PM’s and routine component replacement activities will deliver the desired equipment performance – e.g. equipment availability targets
  • Ensure that all routine maintenance activities (labor, BOM’s, SJP’s, costs, etc.) are uploaded and maintained in SAP and the budgeting tool. 
  • Create and maintain work orders and requisitions (materials and services) in SAP. Confirm and secure needed parts and external labor prior to releasing work orders.
  • Liaise with Supply to expedite external parts and contractor labor suppliers, where necessary.
  • Schedule tire related activities for tire maintenance and repair into the PM schedule.
  • Schedule all routine maintenance activities (work orders) in consultation with Production and Maintenance, including short-term changes to the maintenance schedules based upon Production, Maintenance and Supply requirements.
  • Provide quality work packs to the Maintenance Supervisors for all routine maintenance activities to ensure quality and efficient work execution. Seek detailed work completion information from the Maintenance Supervisors and resolve any issues as necessary.
  • Report on standard maintenance measures that are directly related to the Process Equipment – namely; availability, mean repair duration, mean time between maintenance, component usage and cost (actual versus budget) on a monthly basis.
  • Control inventory, forecasts, and provide monthly reports to Process Superintendent.  Plan and organize tire replacements on mobile equipment in coordination with PM Schedule.
  • The Maintenance Planner ensures that all routine maintenance activities for the Process Department are appropriately planned (resources, parts, tooling) and scheduled (with Production and Maintenance) so that the work progresses in a safe, efficient and repeatable manner.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years in a Maintenance Technician role with maintenance planning experience preferred
  • Desired Experience, 5 years’ experience in Mine Maintenance as a Senior Technician; Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) Certification or Bachelor qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

 

 

The annual pay-range for this position is from $71,656.00 - $100,000 based on experience.
