Job Summary:

Payroll Specialist position reports to Human Resources Manager and perform all responsibilities necessary to process payroll in a regular and timely manner. 

Essential Functions:

• Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance and other deductions to withheld and other records.
• Ensures changes entered to payroll system is accurate.
• Audit timecards for discrepancies and contacts employee/supervisor to obtain resolution.
• Enter and process garnishments.
• Process manual paychecks.
• Answers employee inquiries and collaborates with human resources to solve issues related to pay.
• Responsible for maintaining time and attendance system.
• Run biweekly and month end reports from payroll system.
• Provide documentation and support to internal and external auditors.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

• Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, preferred.
• 2-year minimum experience processing payroll.
• Knowledge of payroll and time keeping software such as ADP and Successfactors.
• Knowledge of California state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to payroll.
• Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities.
• Knowledge of MS Office such as Word, Excel. 

The hourly pay range for this position is $32.96 - $43.00 based on experience.
