The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is owned by Equinox Gold Corp., a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Maintenance Senior Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the Mine Maintenance Senior Supervisor is responsible for directing repairs, overhauls and new builds to mining related equipment. This position will employ reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting functions, planning and execution of maintenance functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Ensure all crews are completing their work in compliance with Company Safety Policies and OH&S Legislation
- Participate in daily/weekly safety meetings
- Work with the superintendent to meet schedules and project specifications
- Plan, set priorities, and organized the work for the foreman/crews/sub-contractors
- Ensure site documentation/data is completed and submitted on time (progress reports, timesheets, coding, work logs, etc.)
- Complete daily planning with materials and warehouse staff
- Ensure work is completed according to drawings and specifications
- Act as a liaison between site crews and administration/management
- Job tasks may be physically demanding lifting to 50 lbs
- Various other duties as requested by management
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong commitment to safety
- Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Experience with Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment is considered an asset
- Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks

- Proficient utilizing MS Office programs
- Knowledge of quality fundamentals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership attributes
- Ontario Common Core an asset

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Red Seal Journeyperson certification
- Remote location working environment
- Prior experience in an industrial setting – mine site experience is an asset
- Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment OEM standards maintained
- Valid driver’s license
LOCATION
- This position will be based in Geraldton, ON on a 14/14 rotational basis.
