Job Summary
We are seeking a Metallurgical Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, this role is responsible for providing metallurgical support to the operations and metallurgical department, with the goal of improving plant performance, stability, and overall efficiency.
This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario on a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide metallurgical and technical support through process plant projects and troubleshooting activities.
- Establish and maintain quality control programs, operating procedures, and control strategies.
- Ensure the process plant meets targets for throughput, recovery, and product quality in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Analyze processing plant samples to improve plant performance.
- Take personal responsibility for the health and safety of all employees.
- Manage projects aimed at improving metallurgical performance within operational parameters, ensuring maximum metal recovery at minimal cost.
- Support production and maintenance departments with technical guidance to optimize productivity and resolve key plant issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs.
- Generate prompt and precise metallurgical reports.
- Conduct performance and environmental monitoring through cost-effective sampling and analysis, while upholding high safety standards.
Required Experience and Skill Set

2+ years of work experience in a CIP gold plant.
Job Conditions

- Strong understanding of plant optimization and metallurgical test work procedures.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Minitab proficiency.
- SAP experience is an asset.
- Takes initiative and works independently.
- Required to wear a half mask respirator for up to 12 hours per shift.
Certifications
- Valid driver's license.
Education
- Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or another related discipline.
