The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with four operating mines in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Nicaragua.
Reporting to the Administration Manager, the Lodge Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the lodge operator and Greenstone Mine. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective execution of lodge service contracts, while maintaining high standards for service delivery and overall guest experience.
4 days on / 3 days off schedule based in Geraldton, Ontario
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor lodge contract performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), and support processes that ensure a high-quality guest experience aligned with operational requirements and stakeholder expectations
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractor representatives and lodging staff
- Act as the primary point of contact for all lodge-related issues, ensuring timely resolution of concerns
- Oversee the delivery and performance of lodge services, including catering, housekeeping, maintenance, power, sewage, waste management, and snow removal
- Collaborate with various departments or contractors to address operational needs and improvements
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports, consolidating information from multiple stakeholders
- Provide reporting on health, safety, and environmental incidents and concerns as required
- Supervise the Site Access team, including responsibilities for travel coordination, accommodation, and employee orientations
- Review and process invoices in accordance with contract terms; support budget tracking and cost control as required
- Conduct regular audits of rooms, kitchen facilities, and common areas to ensure compliance with contractual standards
- Manage and oversee contracts with transportation and accommodation providers
- Serve as the primary liaison with external travel agency to coordinate employee travel arrangements, resolve scheduling issues, and ensure timely and efficient transportation logistics.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of contract management and execution
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and cleaning practices
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams) and data management tools
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Demonstrated experience managing mining camp operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, safety compliance, and high standards of accommodation, catering, and facility maintenance in a remote site environment.
Experience, Qualifications & Education
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a remote lodge or similar operational environment
- Experience in travel and accommodation logistics is considered an asset
- Previous mining industry experience is an asset
