Job Title:  Haul Truck Operator Swap

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mine Haul Truck Swap Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Mine Haul Truck Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating a Mine Haul Truck.

This is a permanent position where team members are required to work up to 8 hours a day. Candidates will be responsible for the swapping of haul trucks for operator breaks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the Large Mine Haul Truck in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
  • Perform Field Level Risk Assessments.
  • Cleaning operator cabin and refilling equipment fluids as required.
  • Complete logbooks and daily reports on safety issues and production.
  • Accurately track all load’s sources, and destinations.
  • Use two-way-radio, horn, and light signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.
  • Use the Mine Haul Truck according to operating practices, policies, and procedures to haul materials such as sand, aggregates, blasted rock, and snow to various locations on the mine site.
  • Monitor gauges, and other indicators to ensure the mine haul truck is working properly, report discrepancies.

Certifications

  • Heavy Equipment Operator training is required.
  • Valid Ontario G1, equivalent or higher driver's licence.
  • Ontario Surface Common Core training is an asset.
