The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Job Summary
We are seeking a Site Services Technician/Equipment Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Site Services Technician/Equipment Operator is responsible for providing repairs, overhauls, and new builds to mining related equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Repairing, servicing, and rebuilding equipment as directed.
- Actively participating in developing and building preventative maintenance schedules and objectives.
- Supporting all departmental initiatives with a concentration on preventative maintenance and construction initiatives.
- Install, maintain, modify, and repair machinery and stationary equipment.
- Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action as required.
- Perform operational equipment checks.
- Repair indoors and outdoors piping and pumping systems
- Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends to prepare mechanical maintenance reports.
- Operate Mobile equipment and assist mine and plant operations where possible.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Follow health and safety policies to ensure safety and environmental protection.
- Collaborate with planning departments and shop personnel to ensure maintenance requirements are met.
- Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing maintenance requirements.
Required Experience and Skill Set
- Heavy Equipment Operator experience within a site services mining environment
- 5+ years of relevant professional work experience
