The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Job Summary
We are seeking a Payroll & Finance Administrator to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Controller, the Payroll & Finance Administrator will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and record-keeping for the organization including related financial analysis. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling financial information. You will collaborate with various departments and personnel to manage payroll and various required system accesses for employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for employees using payroll software. Verify timecards, attendance records, and other data for accuracy.
- Process payroll information including but not limited to master file changes, earnings, department changes, leaves, new hire set-up, and terminations for multiple payrolls.
- Assist in the completion of audits by providing necessary financial data and records and prepare and submit payroll tax reports to relevant authorities.
- Reconcile employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave accrual to the payroll system and the general ledger. Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and inquiries as required.
- Collaborate with HR, accounting, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial data. Communicate payroll-related changes and updates to employees as well as assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain employee records and payroll data accurately and securely.
- Generate payroll and financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, assisting in decision-making processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll and stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Required Experience and Skill Set
- Considerable clerical or administrative experience, specifically related to the payroll or attendance keeping/time entry functions.
- Experience using automated payroll and time and attendance systems and reporting software, such as SAP, SuccessFactors, and ADP WorkForce Now.
- Knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

Certifications
Education
- Post-secondary education in the fields of payroll, human resources management, accounting, public administration, and/or clerical/administrative, or equivalent combination of education and payroll-related experience.
