Job Title:  Operational Administration Efficiency Lead

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Operational Administration Efficiency Lead to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will support the EVP of Operations, the GGM General Manager, and site functional managers in planning and overseeing site and corporate special projects, programs, and meetings. It will also provide general support for optimizing communication and executing day-to-day activities.

This position’s purpose is to support the EVP of Operations and GGM General Manager, and their reports in the execution of critical site priorities, initiatives, and programs.  

This is a developmental position designed to provide a unique learning experience to prepare a high-performing individual for future leadership opportunities at Equinox. 

This position will be based at the GGM office on a 4-days-on / 3-days-off rotation and may require occasional travel to support other domestic and international sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the thinking and actionability of strategic and innovative business ideas.
  • Engage and collaborate with the GGM and corporate leadership teams, along with others across the business, to develop, define, and build upon innovative ideas and business priorities.
  • Lead and organize efforts to plan and develop key site events to achieve desired outcomes (e.g., global functional meetings, department sessions, site leadership meetings, and presentations), as well as key communications.
  • Execute follow-up activities with participants to ensure outcomes are achieved and sustained.
  • Take an oversight role in significant planned site visits and ensure the time required from the Corporate, GGM, or Site Leadership teams is optimized.  
  • Partner with the EVP, GM, and site functional managers to support key areas of work and enable the site to focus on its highest priorities.
  • Engage across the organization to quickly connect information and people, as required, to drive special projects, programs, and initiatives. 
  • Identify competing priorities or conflicts and make recommendations to the EVP, GM, and functional managers for action.
  • Provide project/program facilitation and oversight, as appropriate. 
  • Ensure project objectives are met.
  • Facilitate agreement on objectives and success measures.
  • Provide overall project/program issue resolution and roadblock removal.
  • Optimize and facilitate the site team management operating system.
  • Identify key corporate stakeholders and develop a communication plan to ensure the corporate office is kept apprised of site issues, opportunities, and performance.


Required Experience and Skill Set

  • 5+ years of mining experience, including leadership experience in an innovative and creative environment.

Certifications

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • Master's degree or PhD preferred.
