Job Summary

We are seeking a Mine Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Mine Technician provides drafting and data analysis support for engineering and mine operations.

This is a 14-days-on / 14-days-off rotational position based in Geraldton, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and update engineering plans.
  • Manage data related to tramp metal, misfires, and other elements.
  • Process and prepare survey data.
  • Maintain accurate survey information and produce month-end volumes.
  • Perform field verifications.
  • Manage dig permits and infrastructure maps.
  • Create and modify work procedures.
  • Prepare presentations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records.
  • Assist the drill and blast team with drill plans, loading instructions, and blast timing.
  • Assist the field survey team as required.

 

Required Experience and Skill Set

  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Proficiency in CAD software; Deswik preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Office suite.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English; French is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Rigorous attention to detail.

  • Mining Technician Diploma, a related degree program, or sufficient relevant experience.
  • Experience with survey equipment and techniques.
  • Experience in open pit mining; hard-rock gold mining is preferred.

    The salary range for this position is from $85,024.00 to $103,918.40.
