Mine Operations Superintendent
Job Summary
We are seeking a Mine Operations Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the safety, production, and quality of mine operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mine operations to optimize production, minimize costs, and maximize revenue.
- Oversee mine designs, plans, schedules, resource definitions, and operational reporting to ensure accuracy and alignment with objectives.
- Monitor grade control, reconciliation processes, and production reporting to maintain quality and compliance.
- Support the development and management of the operational budget, including sustaining capital requirements.
- Contribute to the development of the mining department.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of the mine plan.
- Ensure compliance with safety, production, quality, and budgetary targets across mine operations.
- Collaborate with senior managers, superintendents, and frontline supervisors to coordinate and control mine activities.
- Develop and approve operational plans, delegate tasks, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure the cost-effective use of resources.
- Prepare and deliver reports, updates, and presentations on safety, production, and project progress.
- Lead and actively participate in meetings, briefings, and cross-departmental initiatives.
- Partner with frontline supervisors and HR to recruit, train, and develop employees.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to supervisors, supporting their professional growth and leadership development.
Required Experience and Skill Set
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- 15+ years of relevant professional work experience.

Certifications
- Common Core for Surface Mining.
Education
- Post-secondary degree in geology, mining engineering, or a related discipline.
- Post-secondary degree in business or management is considered an asset.
