Job Summary

We are seeking a Mill Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Senior Supervisor, the Mill Maintenance Mechanical Relief Supervisor is responsible for overseeing mill maintenance mechanical activities safely while ensuring production and quality requirements are within established guidelines. Collaborate with all other departments as a team, to achieve set out budgeted targets for HS&E, cost and production.

This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario and operates on a 14/14 rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with company safety policies and applicable OH&S legislation.
• Take ownership of assigned safety KPI targets and drive performance through active leadership, field presence, and follow-up.
• Ensure timely completion of safety action items, inspections, hazard reporting, and corrective measures.
• Ensure all maintenance work meets established quality and workmanship standards prior to returning equipment to service.
• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure schedule adherence and efficient crew utilization.
• Manage workforce scheduling and approve timesheets, overtime, and vacation/leave requests in alignment with operational requirements.
• Identify and manage breaks or gaps in weekly maintenance schedules to maintain productivity and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the reliability team to identify equipment performance gaps and implement improvements that enhance plant availability and production.
• Support asset management and reliability initiatives to improve long-term equipment performance.
• Work closely with operations and planning teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance work effectively.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation, including work orders, time confirmations, and reporting requirements.
• Develop, mentor, and hold team members accountable for performance, safety, and quality expectations.
• Act as the communication link between frontline crews and management.
• Oversee major maintenance tasks, shutdown activities, and assigned projects within the Mill Maintenance Department.
• Provide supervisory coverage during extended shutdowns, major projects, or leadership.

Required Experience and Skill Set

• Strong safety leadership with a demonstrated commitment to achieving measurable safety results.
• Clear organizational skills with the ability to plan, structure, and prioritize work effectively.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to hold teams accountable while fostering a positive work environment.
• Strong general computer skills.
• Working knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance fundamentals.
• 3+ years’ experience in Maintenance of Crushing equipment (Gyratory and Cone Crusher’s), Grinding equipment (Ball Mills, High Pressure Grinding Rolls) Slurry pumping and classification equipment and systems, conveyor systems, agitators and gearboxes is desirable but not necessary.
• Progressive supervisory experience in an ore processing plant is preferred.
• Experience overseeing a multidisciplinary maintenance group is considered an asset.
