Job Title:  HVAC Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an HVAC Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Mechanical Supervisor, the HVAC Technician is responsible for providing repairs, overhauls, and new installations to mining-related HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance related to HVAC services.
  • Repair, service, and rebuild equipment as directed.
  • Participate in developing and building preventative maintenance schedules and objectives.
  • Support all departmental initiatives with a concentration on preventative maintenance and construction.
  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair HVAC piping and related equipment on site.
  • Ensure proper air circulation on the air handler by balancing airflow.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
  • Perform low-voltage wiring and handle BAS system Direct Digital Controllers.
  • Diagnose and perform mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs to HVAC equipment. 
  • Maintain backup boiler unit.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action as required.
  • Perform operational equipment checks and filter replacements.
  • Operate mobile equipment and overhead cranes.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Follow health and safety policies to ensure environmental protection.
  • Collaborate with planning departments and shop personnel to ensure maintenance requirements are met.
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing maintenance requirements.

 

Required Experience and Skill Set

  • Dual trade designation/certification is considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional work experience.

Certifications

  • G1 Gas Technician License required.

Education

  • High school diploma, General Education Development (GED), or combination of education and work-related experience.
