Geology Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a Geological Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Exploration and Geology, the Geological Technician is responsible for playing an important role in the implementation of RC drilling programs, assisting with grade control and other production activities while ensuring safe operational practices.
This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario, on a 14 on/ 14 off rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Practice safe behaviours, report hazards, incidents, and unsafe situations.
- Ensure timely and accurate collection and submission of RC drilling and blast holes samples to the assay laboratory; liaise with the laboratory.
- Assist with installation and pick-up of blast movement monitors.
- Assist with delineation of ore/waste boundaries in the field.
- Assist with monitoring the material movement to the process plant and stockpiles pad.
Required Experience and Skill Set
- An understanding of sampling procedures and QA/QC is an asset.
- Able to safely operate a ½-ton pick-up truck.
- Able to safely lift rock samples and shovel gravel.
- Prior experience in an industrial setting is an asset.
- Experience working around heavy equipment safely is an asset.
