The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.
Greenstone Mine is seeking an Excavator Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Excavator Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating tracked excavators varying in operating weight.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Operate the excavator in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
- Perform Field Level Risk Assessments.
- Cleaning and lubricating the excavator, refilling all fluids as required.
- Complete logbooks and daily reports on safety issues and production.
- Use two-way-radio, and horn signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.
- Use excavators according to operating practices to excavate materials such as overburden, sand, gravel, blasted rock, and snow.
- Use excavators to scales walls, to bench and load mine haul trucks, to break rock with the rock breaker attachment when required.
- Monitor gauges, and other indicators to make ensure the excavator is working properly, report discrepancies.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- A minimum of 2 years of experience operating excavators in a mine setting
- Valid driver’s license
- Prior experience in an industrial or a mining setting is an asset
- Heavy Equipment Operator Training or pertinent experience is required
- Ontario Surface Common Core Training is an asset

- This position will be on a rotational basis based in Greenstone, Ontario.
