Environmental Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking an Environmental Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, the Environmental Supervisor will be responsible for environmental compliance monitoring at the mine and the implementation of Greenstone Gold Mines’ environmental commitments. The position requires broad scientific knowledge, strong technical skills, and experience in people and environmental project management.
This position follows a 14 on / 14 off rotational schedule at the mine site in Geraldton, ON.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure project compliance with all environmental permits, licenses, government/agency regulations, and other related legal agreements.
- Supervise, oversee, and execute environmental programs, including sampling of various media, data management, site inspections, and incident response.
- Lead the development and refinement of procedures to reflect industry best practices.
- Collaborate and coordinate with technical and site operational teams to advance environmental program deliverables, support site environmental objectives, and inform management decisions.
- Provide leadership and coaching to environmental technicians and support continued development of skills and competencies.
- Lead by example and establish a safety culture by supervising daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings.
- Perform ongoing inspections and risk assessments to identify and address unsafe conditions or hazards in the workplace.
- Promote environmental awareness and compliance standards to employees and contractors.
Required Experience and Skill Set
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in the mining industry.
- 1+ year of supervisory experience.
- Environmental project management experience.
- Effective team leadership skills within an operating environment.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, standards, and effective industry practices in Ontario.
- Proficient with environmental data management programs.

Education
