Job Title:  Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with five operating mines in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Nicaragua.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mill Maintenance Relief E&I Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance E&I Supervisor, the Mill Maintenance E&I Relief Supervisor is responsible for overseeing mill maintenance mechanical activities safely while ensuring production and quality requirements are within established guidelines. Collaborate with all other departments as a team, to achieve set out budgeted targets for HS&E, cost and production.

This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a 14/14 rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the crew is completing their work in compliance with Company Safety Policies and OH&S Legislation.
  • Actively participate in daily/weekly/monthly safety meetings.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of an effective asset management plan.
  • Work with all Mill groups to meet schedules and project specifications.
  • Ensure site documentation/data is completed and submitted on time (e.g. timesheets, work orders are properly filled out and time confirmed, etc.)
  • Assist with the development of the maintenance team’s technical capability to provide adequate support within the department’s areas of responsibilities.
  • Assist with the collaboration with all Site Operations and Planning teams to plan and schedule work by priority.
  • Act as a liaison between the crews and administration/management.
  • Develop and mentor subordinates within the Mill Maintenance E&I group.
  • Oversee major projects or maintenance tasks within the Mill Maintenance E&I Department.
  • May on occasion need to assist supervising night shift groups during extended shutdowns or larger projects
  • Stand in for the Mill Maintenance E&I Supervisor while they are on holidays or in training.    
  • Various other duties as requested by the Mill Maintenance E&I Supervisor, Maintenance Superintendent, Operations Superintendent, Chief Metallurgist or Mill Manager. 

 

Required Experience and Skill Set

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance of crushers (gyratory and cone crushers), grinding equipment (ball mills, high-pressure grinding rolls), slurry pumping, classification equipment and systems, conveyor systems, agitators, and gearboxes.
  • 5+ years of progressive supervisory experience in a base metal processing plant is an asset.

  • Red Seal Journeyperson certification.
