Job Summary

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Drill Support Labourer to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Drill Support Labourer is responsible for providing operational support to drilling activities by assisting drill operators, maintaining safe and efficient work areas, handling supplies and materials, and performing general labour duties associated with drill and blast operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring drilling activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform shoveling, lifting, carrying, and manual labour tasks as required.
  • Assist with material handling and inventory management.
  • Support drill and blast crews during production and development activities.

 

Required Experience and Skill Set

  • Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
  • Able to work effectively in a physically demanding environment.
  • Able to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively using two-way radio systems.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and varying weather conditions.
  • Experience in mining, construction, heavy industrial, or labour-intensive environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting drilling and blasting operations is considered an asset.

Job Conditions

  • This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario.

Certifications

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Common Core for Surface Mining is an asset.
  • Standard First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
  • Surface Miner or Underground Hard Rock Miner training is considered an asset.

Education

  • High school diploma, General Education Development (GED), or combination of education and work-related experience.

 

The salary range for this position is from $70,853.00 to $70,853.00.
