Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Exploration, the field Drill Supervisor will support and lead exploration activities on the company’s projects in southern California at Mesquite and Castle Mountain. This position involves supervision and guidance of RC and core drilling, safety inspections, sample collection and management, warehouse organization, and tool/equipment operation and training. This team-oriented position will be based at Castle Mountain mine site, approximately 80 miles south of Henderson, NV. The work schedule is Monday-Friday with flexibility as needed to cover some weekends.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage drilling and field programs to ensure efficient and safe execution.

Supervise and train field technicians; ensure that SOPs developed are followed.

Conduct work area and contractor inspections; mitigate and report sub-standard conditions.

Participate in safety and environmental audits.

Adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory policies.
-
Collect and report drill metrics including penetration rates and costs.
-
Support and lead drill hole planning with the Exploration Manager and Director.

Stake out drillhole collars, sumps and access roads.
-
Ensure safe access and permit compliance of sites.
-
Collect drill samples from drill sites at active/inactive mines, including core and RC chips.
-
Lay out, wash, photograph, cut, sample and move diamond drill core.

Geotechnical logging of drill core, including recovery, hardness, joint condition rating, specific gravity, magnetic susceptibility, and other measurements as required.

GPS surveys of drillhole collars and other field data.

Order and manage field supplies and consumables; track inventories.

Conduct sample tracking for drill programs and exploration projects.

Organize warehouse and sorting of core, RC chips, QAQC samples, pulps and field supplies.

Manage field crews and contractors during exploration activities.

Maintain and repair of equipment and tools; practice good housekeeping.

Maintain and improve SOPs related to the responsibilities outlined above.

Travel to projects within California and the western US.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

5 plus years of leadership/foreman experience.

Exposure to exploration drilling and remote field work.
-
Experience with basic carpentry, power tools, telehandlers and backhoes.

Ability to inspect and safely operate tools and equipment.

Experience with GPS and compass navigation.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft suite.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Certifications: Valid Class C driver’s license.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed at an active mine site that may include open pit mining, processing facilities, leach pads, maintenance areas, and office environments. Employees may be exposed to extreme weather conditions associated with a desert climate, including high heat, cold temperatures, wind, dust, and occasional precipitation or flash flooding. Depending on the role, work areas may involve proximity to large mobile equipment, moving mechanical parts, blasting activities, noise, vibration, diesel exhaust fumes, chemicals, fuels, oils, airborne particles, or other industrial hazards typical of mining operations. Outdoor work on uneven or rough terrain is common for many roles. Employees may encounter desert wildlife and native plant life. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as determined by job duties, task hazards, and work location. PPE includes, but is not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, and other PPE as determined by job task and location.

While performing job responsibilities, employees must be able to communicate effectively and maintain situational awareness in an active mining environment. Use of hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, controls, or computer systems is required. Specific physical demand requirements will be provided during the interview process. Employees may be required to work while wearing the required PPE, including respiratory and hearing protection. The annual pay range for this position starts at $ 103,000.00- $128,750.00 based on experience
