Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Superintendent is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory, and warehouse activities in support of safe and efficient mine operations. This role works closely with operations, maintenance, finance, vendors, contractors, and corporate supply chain resources to ensure goods and services are sourced, purchased, received, stored, issued, and delivered in accordance with operational needs, company policies, contract requirements, and applicable safety and regulatory standards. The Supply Chain Superintendent provides hands-on leadership to procurement and warehouse personnel, supports cost control and continuous improvement initiatives, monitors supplier performance, and helps ensure materials and services are available when needed to support production, maintenance, and project activities.

This is an onsite position at the mine site. Candidates should ideally reside in the Yuma, AZ area or in the Imperial Valley, CA. surrounding areas.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory, and warehouse activities to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective mine operations.
• Lead, coach, schedule, and support procurement and warehouse personnel, including assigning work priorities and ensuring duties are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, processing, projects, and administration teams to understand demand, prioritize critical needs, and ensure timely availability of materials, parts, supplies, equipment, and services.
• Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders, expediting, receiving, inventory control, material handling, shipping, returns, records, and warehouse housekeeping activities.
• Support sourcing, vendor selection, quote evaluation, contract administration, and supplier performance management in alignment with company policies and delegated authority levels.
• Monitor inventory levels, min/max settings, reorder points, stock accuracy, cycle counts, obsolete materials, and critical spares to reduce stockouts, excess inventory, and operational delays.
• Track and report key supply chain and warehouse metrics, including service levels, open purchase orders, spend trends, inventory accuracy, stockout risk, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for supply chain, warehouse, inventory, freight, contracts, and operating spend; monitor actual costs against approved budgets, review variances, and partner with site leadership and Finance to identify cost-control opportunities.
• Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments are managed safely, accurately, and efficiently, including coordination with carriers, freight providers, customs brokers, vendors, and internal end users as required.
• Review warehouse layout, storage practices, equipment condition, and material handling processes to maintain safe, organized, and efficient work areas.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to procurement, receiving, inventory, shipping, vendor files, contracts, and compliance requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements related to purchasing efficiency, inventory accuracy, supplier reliability, warehouse organization, cost control, and internal customer service.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, internal controls, contract requirements, safety procedures, environmental requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in health and safety meetings, risk reviews, incident investigations, audits, and operational planning meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory control, or materials management, preferably in mining, heavy industrial, construction, manufacturing, or similar operating environments.
• Previous supervisory or lead experience overseeing procurement, warehouse, inventory, logistics, or materials personnel required.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing, expediting, receiving, inventory management, warehouse operations, vendor management, and basic contract administration.
• Ability to prioritize operational needs, manage competing deadlines, and support critical production and maintenance requirements in a fast-paced site environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop employees, communicate expectations, resolve issues, and promote accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge of ERP(Preferably with SAP), inventory, purchasing, or warehouse management systems; experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal employees, vendors, contractors, freight providers, and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to safe work practices, regulatory compliance, ethical procurement, internal controls, and responsible business conduct.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting open pit mining, processing, maintenance, mobile equipment, capital projects, or remote site logistics is preferred. Familiarity with MSHA requirements, site safety programs, inventory control best practices, and cost-control initiatives is an asset.

Certifications: None Required.

Education: Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant work experience will be considered.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed at an active mine site that may include open pit mining, processing facilities, leach pads, maintenance areas, and office environments. Employees may be exposed to extreme weather conditions associated with a desert climate, including high heat, cold temperatures, wind, dust, and occasional precipitation or flash flooding. Depending on the role, work areas may involve proximity to large mobile equipment, moving mechanical parts, blasting activities, noise, vibration, diesel exhaust fumes, chemicals, fuels, oils, airborne particles, or other industrial hazards typical of mining operations. Outdoor work on uneven or rough terrain is common for many roles. Employees may encounter desert wildlife and native plant life. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as determined by job duties, task hazards, and work location. PPE includes, but is not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, and other PPE as determined by job task and location.

Physical Demands:
Manual dexterity; handling and grasping; fingering and fine motor skills; speaking clearly; hearing in speech, radio, and environmental ranges; seeing, reading, and comprehension; near and distant vision; depth perception. While performing job responsibilities, employees must be able to communicate effectively and maintain situational awareness in an active mining environment. Physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching, or working on uneven surfaces. Use of hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, controls, or computer systems is required. Specific physical demand requirements will be provided during the interview process. Employees may be required to work while wearing the required PPE, including respiratory and hearing protection. The annual pay range for this position starts at $111,400.00 -  $148,526.00 based on experience
