Job Summary:
The role of the Mine Maintenance Shift Supervisor ensures that all planned/unplanned maintenance activities are properly executed in a safe and efficient manner and provide direction and supervision to the Maintenance employees. Ensuring that maintenance targets and schedules are achieved as planned. The Mine Maintenance Shift Supervisor will also assist in the development of Maintenance employees and the efficient operation of the department.
Essential Functions:
- Must demonstrate commitment to good safety and environmental policies, practices and adhere to governmental regulations.
- Review and direct technicians on all scheduled/unscheduled repair activities, ensuring safe/efficient execution.
- Discuss upcoming schedules/turnover and plans with peers.
- Oversee and audit work performed by the assigned maintenance team, while providing necessary training and coaching as required.
- Conduct shop and work area inspections to identify and analyze corrective and preventive activities required. Maintain rigorous housekeeping habits of all maintenance shop facilities.
- Interface with Production, Purchasing, to identify and resolve issues. Coordinate with the operations supervisors/dispatcher for all scheduled activities. Ensure the sequencing matches the schedule as developed.
- Plan, organize and control maintenance activities using SAP and other related maintenance programs in use.
- Excellent and demonstrated commitment to safety, health and environmental standards, interacting with maintenance shop personnel to ensure activities are completed without compromise to the safety, health and environmental standards.
- Proactively monitor work performance, maintain quality and standardization of work orders and provide daily communication with mine operation staff to support the work plan by providing Technicians with high-quality standardized work assignments.
- Work the hours necessary both prior to and following the 12 hour production schedule to complete required repair turnover with other supervisors and complete required reports.
- Ability to work rotating shifts in potentially extreme climate conditions.
- Safely move/maneuver large equipment (to include 250-ton trucks, dozers, drills, other) in close proximity to other equipment, persons and physical structures without endangering themselves or others due to vision (20/40 corrected both eyes) or hearing (vocal and mechanical warnings) deficiencies.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D., preference will be given to candidates that have a 2 year technical degree
- 2 year technical degree with 3 to 5 years of mine maintenance related experience, or 5 to 10 years technical experience in the maintenance industry, preferably in the heavy equipment environment, or a minimum of 2 years mine maintenance supervision experience
- Prior hands on mechanical maintenance trade experience is beneficial
- Microsoft Office, S.A.P. or other maintenance management software is desirable. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
The hourly pay range for this position: $46.00- $49.26, based on experience.
