Job Summary:

The IT Lead has a leadership role in the Equinox Gold US Operations IT team. This role is under the direct supervision and direction of the IT Manager, US Operations. The Lead Senior IT Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, managing and maintaining IT/OT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced professional who can lead IT projects, provide advanced technical support, and mentor junior IT staff.The IT Lead has a leadership role in the Equinox Gold US Operations IT team. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and endpoints.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the company’s data through effective management of firewalls, antivirus, and other security measures.
  • Lead and implement IT projects, from planning to execution, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide advanced technical support to resolve complex IT issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Mentor and train junior IT staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Communicating departmental accomplishments and challenges to the sites management in an efficient manner 
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of overall experience in IT roles, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role within an IT department.
  • Extensive experience with network administration, server management, and IT security.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware), and cloud services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the mining or industrial sector is an advantage but not required.

 

 

The hourly pay-range for this position starts at  $46.34 - $65.00 based on experience.
