The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Job Summary
Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Asset Management Superintendent provides technical and strategic leadership to the Fixed Plant Reliability and Planning teams. This role ensures maximum equipment availability, optimized lifecycle cost, and safe, stable operations by driving reliability engineering, predictive maintenance, defect elimination, planning, scheduling, and effective use of SAP as the site's CMMS/EAM system.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the Asset Management Strategy for Fixed Plant Equipment.
- Lead and develop the Reliability and Planning teams.
- Foster a culture of defect elimination, continuous improvement, and precision maintenance.
Planning and Scheduling
- Develop maintenance plans and manage shutdown, turnaround, and major maintenance activities.
- Optimize maintenance schedules to minimize production disruptions and maximize resource utilization.
- Monitor schedule compliance and convert reliability insights into planned SAP maintenance work.
Asset Management & Reliability Governance
- Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies.
- Lead the site's reliability framework in alignment with ISO 55001 and industry best practices.
- Optimize equipment strategies, PMs, BOMs, task lists, and failure reporting within SAP.
- Establish and monitor reliability KPIs including Availability, MTBF, MTTR, OEE, PM/PdM compliance, planned work percentage, and backlog health.
Condition Monitoring & Predictive Maintenance
- Oversee predictive maintenance and condition monitoring programs for fixed plant assets.
- Manage vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis, and motor current analysis programs.
- Implement dashboards and triggers to proactively address emerging issues.
Reliability Engineering
- Facilitate RCM, FMEA, and PM Optimization initiatives.
- Lead Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Improve precision maintenance practices including alignment, balancing, torquing, and lubrication excellence.
Data & Analytics
- Build reliability dashboards to monitor downtime, failure modes, and cost drivers.
- Ensure CMMS data integrity and apply reliability tools such as Weibull analysis, lifecycle costing, and reliability modelling.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a culture of Zero Harm.
- Integrate reliability processes to reduce maintenance risk and improve energy isolation effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
Vendor, OEM & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with OEMs, condition monitoring partners, rebuild shops, and service providers.
- Ensure vendor recommendations are incorporated into SAP strategies.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Metallurgy, and Supply Chain to align reliability priorities with production needs.
Required Experience and Skill Set
- 8+ years of maintenance and reliability experience in mining or mineral processing.
- 3+ years in a leadership or superintendent-level reliability role.
- Strong experience with SAP PM.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, reliability engineering, and asset management.
- Experience supporting gold processing facilities or similar fixed plant operations preferred.
- Experience with major shutdown and turnaround planning.
- Strong understanding of fixed plant equipment, asset management principles, planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement.
- Strong maintenance problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to coach and develop teams while building collaborative working relationships.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Education
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
