Greenstone Mine - Mill Maintenance Asset Reliability Specialist

Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario.  The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.

 

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mill Maintenance Asset Reliability Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, the Mill Maintenance Asset Reliability Specialist will plan, perform, and record tasks identified in the Mill Department reliability centered maintenance (RCM) program. The Asset Reliability Specialist determines the root cause of maintenance issues and develops strategies and action plans to prevent these and similar issues from occurring in the future. This individual will assist in the management of our preventative maintenance (PM) program and help implement continuous improvements. The Asset Reliability Specialist will also actively manage all predictive maintenance (PdM) tasks, including condition-based monitoring (CBM).  These will inlcude but not be limited to, oil analysis, vibration anaylsis, moter circuit analysis, theromgraphy readings, Ultasonic Monitoring/Acoustic Analysis, Electrical Monitoring and Electromagnetic measurement. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Maintain complete and accurate records/plans within our computerized maintenance management system related to equipment, specifications data, BOM, failure history and Asset condition monitoring
  • Design and manage condition-based maintenance (CBM) program.
  • Identify and manage system of continuous improvement to ensure resolution to chronic “bad actor” equipment.
  • Work closely with the maintenance planners on the creation of equipment repair best practices.
  • Investigate new technologies for reliability improvements.
  • Analyze significant failures to determine the root cause.
  • Maintain equipment history and analyzed for future trends.

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrates strong computer skills.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems such as Oracle or JD Edwards is necessary with SAP being the preferred type of such system.
  • Care and control of all predictive equipment (Vibration Analyzer, Thermal Imaging, Strobes, Tachometers, alignment tooling)
  • This position will be working both indoors and outdoors
  • This position may from time to time require to work at heights
  • Due to the process used for gold producition the use of respiratory and hearing protection will be required from time to time for this position when working in certain areas.

 

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or an Industrial Trades Certification with 2-5 years of maintenance experience.
  • 2-5 years of Maintenance expereince perferred
  • Asset Reliability Specialist or similar role experience preferred.
  • Vibration Analysis Level II Certification preferred.
  • Infrared Thermography Level I Certification preferred.
  • Ultrasound Level I Certification preferred.
  • Oil Analysis Level I Certification preferred.
  • CMRP Certification preferred.

This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
