Greenstone Mine - IT Manager

Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario.  The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.

Greenstone Mine is seeking an IT Manager, accountable for implementing, maintaining and optimizing all IT technology, computing applications and cybersecurity protocols for Greenstone Gold Mines while managing a team of IT employees. The IT Manager will be an active part of the IT team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Manage a dynamic IT team including oversight, recruitment, and training.
• Implement IT protocols across the organization (mine, projects, etc.).
• Analyze IT budgets and maintain cost-effectiveness, preparation of business cases.
• Take a leading role in ensuring that IT operations comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements and IT General Controls.
• Work collectively to define, plan, and implement technology needs.
• Monitoring daily performance of IT systems, including computers, programs, and networks.
• Develop and implement data backup systems and disaster recovery contingencies.
• Perform troubleshooting, repairs and data restoration.
• Manage, develop, maintain and expand IT infrastructure and lead infrastructure projects.
• Direct the technology architecture, technology plans, and operations for all infrastructure services.
• Provide project coordination for a variety of IT projects.
• Monitor and support LTE and mine radios communication systems.
• Recommend IT related tools that may improve operational effectiveness.
• Ensure robust cybersecurity controls are in place and functioning effectively.
• Support the mine’s management of change process for IT projects.
• Stay current with new IT developments in the industry.
• Oversight of IT general control compliance programs and cybersecurity audits.
• Oversee SAP administration and project management function.
• Occasionally, step in to support day-to-day duties of the IT team when needed.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to create a positive work environment; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to drive for results though planning, alignment and execution.
• Proven experience as IT Manager or similar role.
• Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN configuration, network management and help desk support.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and ability to communicate with different levels of the organization technical terms/problems in a user language.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

• Bachelor of Science/bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science, or relevant IT Certification.
• Experience with Cisco and Fortinet network technologies.
• Minimum of 10 years work experience in information technology with a minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience.
• Experience in the mining industry is an asset.

This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario
