Greenstone Mine - Mill Maintenance Instrumentation & Control Technician
Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mill Maintenance Instrumentation & Control Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor, the Mill Maintenance Instrumentation & Control Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and improving the reliability of Instrumentation and Control system assets under the scope of the Mill Maintenance Department.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Safely install, inspect, test, troubleshoot and calibrate Instrumentation & control devices.
- Safely perform preventative maintenance work to meet production schedules.
- Diagnose and repair instrumentation & control equipment problems and breakdowns to reduce impact on operations.
- Consult and liaise with Maintenance, Metallurgy and Operations to set priorities on Instrumentation issues or improvements.
- Interface/ communicate with Process Control Engineer.
- Develop and update standard work procedures (SWP's) to ensure tasks are performed in a safe and consistent manner.
- Respond to emergency situations and or call outs as required.
- Report Hazards, safety issues and deviations to procedures
- Provide required documentation of work performed.
- Align with work safety policies and safety regulations

- Candidates must demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills

- Demonstrated knowledge PLC and SCADA (AVEVA InTouch) troubleshooting and basic Configuration.
- Strong analytical skills

- Able to work outdoors and inclement weather conditions
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Instrumentation and Control Technician (447A) Red seal accreditation or a College Technician or Technology Diploma in Instrumentation.
- 3-5 years prior experience with Instrumentation and control systems within a Mining or Industrial environment

- This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
