Greenstone Mine - Payroll and Finance Administrator

Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario.  The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.

 

                 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Process payroll information including but not limited to master file changes, earnings, department changes, leaves, new hire set-up, and terminations for multiple payrolls.
  • Verify timecards, attendance records, and other data for accuracy.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Request and follow up on relevant SAP Concur Access for new employees.
  • Stay current with tax regulations and labor laws to ensure payroll and financial compliance.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax reports to relevant authorities.
  • Assist in the completion of audits by providing necessary financial data and records.
  • Reconcile employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave accrual to the payroll system and the general ledger.
  • Maintain employee records and payroll data accurately and securely.
  • Prepare journal entries as required.
  • Generate payroll and financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, assisting in decision-making processes.

              EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Post-secondary education in the fields of payroll, human resources management, accounting, public administration, and / or clerical/administrative, or equivalent combination of education and/or payroll-related experience.
  • Considerable clerical or administrative experience, specifically related to the payroll or attendance keeping/time entry functions.
  • Considerable experience using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience using automated payroll/time and attendance systems and reporting software, such as SAP, SuccessFactors, and ADP/WorkForce Now.
